Re: PCJR Cartridge Items.
I would think you should be able to, but would have to design a new card to hold the newer chip as it's likely not the same form factor nor have the same pin locations. The only modern cartridge boards I am familiar with are from Raphnet and there are some on eBay as well.

Re: Brittle case?
Yeah, the plastic is fairly brittle at this age. I haven't taken my original one out of the case to replace a few old caps for that very reason. And unfortunately the plastic between the plugs is similar and bent pins are not uncommon. Be careful putting cables in and out and make sure you have them ...

Re: Gotek HD Image Support on PCjr
Alright, so it does work!
I reported that I was getting sector not found errors. Logging data via Flash Floppy didn't help me diagnose the issue, but I noticed that the unit was never leaving track offset 0. It would switch heads, but never go to track 1. i.e. display always shows T: 00.0 or 00.1 ...

Gotek HD Image Support on PCjr
Starting a new thread dedicated to this as it started under the 3Flop section.
So, I've been attempting to get my Gotek to allow my PCjr to read high density disks through the PCjr flopper controller card. It is known that the PCjr controller is not happy with HD drives (bitrate too high at 500kbps ...

Re: Type in games?
Compute had several books for the PC and also PCjr.
Compute!'s IBM & Compatibles BASIC Program Collection
Compute!'s First Book of IBM
Compute!'s Second Book of IBM
I thought I had more but don't see them at the moment. I learned to program by typing in tons of these programs when I was a kid :).

Re: NIB PCJR
Nice! My memory is still fuzzy when my dad first brought home our jr. I seem to recall booting to BASIC, typing in a program out of a book and running it and having fun. Then wondering why "save" didn't work. It took me quite some time to type the program in and get it working and I couldn't save it ...

Microsolutions Backpack Floppy
I saw this thread and it made me curious. Does anyone else have a Microsolutions 5 1/4" high density backpack floppy drive? I'm curious how many others had one of these. It appears the disk that mine came with labels it as version 2.01, November 27, 1991.

Re: system goes bonkers during autoexec
I've got a jrATX with the 90W PicoATX power supply similar to yours and a jrIDE. I've run it with a parallel port sidecare and connected it to an expansion board which adds a 5 1/4" high density drive. And although I've never had your issue, I have had an odd issue where KQ1 fails to boot and run 95 ...
