Re: My upgraded system
Really nice build!
I tried something similar with a 3.5” floppy as the second drive (an old IBM 720kb), but the pico psu seemed to become unstable and the computer kept freezing up. I guess the gotek draws less (or likely some other problem specific to my system).

F-19 Stealth Fighter (Microprose game) on the PCjr
Anyone with a Tandy-Mod ever tried out (or want to try out) running F-19 Stealth Fighter on their Jr? When I try to run it with Tandy graphics, the screen goes blank. I can actually use keyboard commands to step through the blank screens of the program and exit it normally. So it is definitely just ...

Re: system goes bonkers during autoexec
Greetings All, Thanks to everyone who has offered some ideas to test. After further inspection, I can report the following: 1) With a bare system (128k, and two lpt ports, no jride or extra memory) everything works fine. 2) The placement of the jride has no affect on the problem behavior (which in i...

system goes bonkers during autoexec
Greetings Everyone, I've come across a head-scratcher and I thought someone on the forum may be able to offer some insight. My Jr (prior to me messing with it recently) was successfully running with Chuck's tandy and com2 boards, 2 lpt side cars, and a jride with an 8GB DOM. The jride is situated in...

Re: tandymod test games?
The Bard’s Tale is a good test as well. Here’s a question. Has anyone had trouble running Arkanoid in Tandy mode with the mod? I recall as a kid it worked fine on my unmodified PCjr (even though when you started it up you were supposed to pick between CGA, EGA, or Tandy). Now, with the mod installed...

Build a powered SCSI terminator?
Greetings All, In cleaning out some of my father's old junk (he was a lifelong IBMer), I've come across a mint IBM 3510 external SCSI housing configured with a single speed CDROM drive. I would love to hook this up to my PCjr via a Trantor / Adaptec APA-348 miniSCSI / parallel adapter which I also h...

Re: Racore Docs
Chuck, You may have already seen these before, but these are some neat 3d printed ideas that might work in your color system if you want to customize the look of your gotek. https://www.ebay.com/itm/153742367552 http://proaudioaccessories.com/2020/06/hxc-floppy-emulator-5-25-drive-replacement-with-p...

Re: Racore Docs
All, Random question, but will the racore expansion work well with jr-ide? I don't have the expansion but I'm interested in finding one. I see that some had a dma built in. But I know Chuck has a 3-flop board, so maybe a better option is to just use the housing to hold a power supply and a second dr...

CHOICE.EXE or equivalent for DOS 5.02 (for building menus)
Greetings All, Recently, I was building some batch file menus for the junior (running with a JR-IDE and patched IBM PC DOS 5.02). As I was writing out a dozen or so smaller numbered batch files for the menu, I got to wondering if there is an equivalent to CHOICE.EXE for DOS 5. It would really be nic...
