Re: Type in games?
I think the C64 cassette would work, If memory serves me I used a Radio Shack back in the day...
I think ebay has plenty of NOS cassette decks that will work.
I never saw a Jr Cassette deck...

Re: Type in games?
There are Many books on Jr programs Check Ebay, most any 'basic' type book will work , you may have to tweak the basic program to fit the Jr, but usually not a problem. Also If you really want to experience the 'early Jr' get the Cassette recorder, and cable to save and load your programs, this is a...

Re: Racore Pwr Supply Repair
Nicely done....... Is there an issue with noise, maybe let us know what the issue is! I have not heard of this, but it is not hard to believe the boards are noisy.... did it cause issues or gremlins that have been documented by the users ? even tho the Jr case does have a inside coating to capture t...

Yes the good old Cassette recorder........ I think the radio shack recorder was a favorite back then.. TIDBIT: I read and article, back in the day long ago.... they talked about how the design to save 1's and 0's was (if memory serves me ) was 1200hz and 2400hz.... the gripe was that while the syste...

Racore Pwr Supply Repair
Hi Chuck, At some point I will probably upgrade my Quadram with the information you sent. I went back at the Quadram power supply and I could see the first band on the burnt resistor and it was orange. I measured the bad resistor and it measured 359 ohms so I thought maybe it only marginally change...

Re: New Monitor In Box
I bought a new 5153 with my New Eagle PC in '85... From what I remember it had a little better resolution than the Jr monitor, but heck back then COLOR computing was phenomenal... so I was not that critical... I will get aroundto unvboxing someday, when time permits and will do a side by side compar...

Yes I believe so, from what I remember, (foggy) it is a closed network with unique software for each JR to run.....
never seen one running but would be fun to watch two Jrs on an original network

Re: system goes bonkers during autoexec
the jr cases have a conductive coating, if you use an ohm meter you cantest this... Not sure why this would matter, but more so I am thinking the side case is keeping the JRIDE connector from properly seating and without the case it can plug in more deeply... can you see if this is a possible issue,...

Re: system goes bonkers during autoexec
Another thought, when I was using my DOM, it crashed 3 times and had to reformat and load files... Not sure why, but since I put a regular hard drive on, no problems, may be a speed timing issue, just a guess.. if you have a hard drive, that may be the answer. Note I was doing alot of Turbo Pascal a...
