This is a picture of the PC Enterprises jr-ROM Clock module / chip.
it was intended to add a clock and calendar to the functionality of the PCJR which it sorely lacked.
You need to take out the First ROM chip then unit installs in that socket, closest to the front of the Jr Case.
You would plug the removed ROM chip back into the top of this module for normal operation
The chip is a Dallas semiconductor DS1216, which is one of several DS chip made, many of them came with
built in batteries, and you can find them in older equipment such as the HP Test equipment.
Great solution to a big problem.
